eurammon Seeks Academic Papers for Natural Refrigeration Award

eurammon, based in Frankfurt, Germany, has issued a call for papers for its Natural Refrigeration Award 2020, which aims to facilitate projects of young scientists and hopes to motivate them to do further research with natural refrigerants.

The deadline for applications is March 27, 2020, and the awards will be handed out on June 25, 2020 at the eurammon symposium in Switzerland.

eurammon is a joint initiative of companies, institutions and individuals that advocate for the use of natural refrigerants. This year, the International Academy of Refrigeration’s representative office in Kazakhstan and the trade journal cci Dialog will sponsor the award.

All young scientists and graduates from universities and polytechnics are eligible to submit their research. Papers must have been accredited as a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree thesis, or a final paper for a similar degree.

The thesis paper must concern refrigeration, air conditioning or heat pump applications using natural refrigerants – ammonia, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, air or water – and it must have been graded between July 2018 and March 2020.

Three prizes of €5,000 (US$5,450) each will be awarded. The winners will be selected by an international jury, with members from science, business and the media. In addition to the prize money, the three winners will have the opportunity to present their theses or dissertations to an international audience at the eurammon Symposium 2020, taking place in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, from June 25-26.

The application form can be found here.
