The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) is asking HVAC&R industry stakeholders to send it information on any events planned for the second annual World Refrigeration Day (WRD), which will take place on June 26, 2020,
IIR will compile the information into a worldwide directory of WRD activities.
Activities should be emailed, preferably by May 20, to iif-iir@iifiir.org, with the subject “Call to Action: World Refrigeration Day.” Submitted activities should include a brief description, location and time, and the contact details of the organizers.
WRD, which this year will highlight the theme “Cold Chain 4 Life,” aims to create awareness about the importance of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technology for modern societies around the world. It is held on June 26 every year to honor Lord Kelvin, born on that date in 1824, and for whom the absolute temperature scale is named.
Last year’s inaugural WRD was considered a great success, with activities celebrated in at least 153 countries.
